About Ward O’Doherty

O’Doherty is currently the Chairman of the Economic Development Commission for the City of Oceanside He also serves as the Chairman of the Downtown Advisory Commission. He has recently been named to the Standing Commission for the Oversight of El Corazon. He has led and or been part of multiple ad hoc committees that include the Strategic Work Plan for Economic Development, the Economic Sustainability Study, and the viability study for the City’s contract with the North County Humane Society.

He has acted as an advisor to North County Lifeline, Oceanside Museum of Art, the California Surf Museum and Mission San Luis Rey. He is responsible for the creation of The First Responders Group, an organization that provides financial advice to Oceanside fire and rescue personnel. He is currently forming the Oceanside Restaurant and Tavern Owners’ Association.

He is a active member of the Oceanside Rotary, Mission San Luis Rey and is a member of the San Luis Rey Parish. He has previously served on the Board of KOCT and the Board of Governors for El Camino Country Club.

O’Doherty moved to Oceanside in 2000. He is now in his sixteenth year in the financial services industry. Currently he serves as the Director of Business Development for Signature Resources, a privately held insurance and investment firm.

Prior to coming to Oceanside Ward O’Doherty had a successful career in television production that took him from Los Angeles to New York and all points in between. He helped produce and direct live programming from the opening ceremonies of the Atlanta Olympic Games, the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes. He is responsible for the successful launch of multiple production companies including his own Pin High Pictures, the company marketed, created and produced original television content primarily for sports networks.
